Crapsee crapless craps simulator — variant table layout where 2, 3, and 12 are points

Crapless Craps is the casino variant where 2, 3, and 12 no longer lose on the come-out roll. Instead they become points. The only way Pass Line loses is by rolling a 7 after a point is set. Crapsee is an online Crapless Craps simulator with cryptographically secure dice, both Table and Bubble-payout modes, and a dedicated Crapless Bubble Craps experience - included with the Enhanced tier.

What is Crapless Craps?

Crapless Craps (also called Never Ever Craps or Bonus Craps) is a variant of the standard casino craps game. The rule change is simple: on the come-out roll, the numbers 2, 3, and 12 no longer make the Pass Line lose. Instead they become points like any other number.

The practical effect: you cannot crap out. The only way a Pass Line bet loses in Crapless is by rolling a 7 after a point has been established. This makes the come-out roll feel friendlier and less abrupt - every number becomes either an instant win (7 or 11) or a new round that continues.

This sounds like a free lunch for the player, but it is not. To pay for the removed come-out losses, the casino widens the Pass Line house edge. A traditional Pass Line bet carries a 1.41% house edge. The Crapless Craps Pass Line sits at 5.38%. Most players enjoy the variant for the no-loss come-out experience and as a break from standard tables, but it should not replace a traditional table as a core-strategy game.

Crapless Craps rules

Rules are identical to traditional craps with one structural change: the come-out resolution. For the full rule book on shooter conduct, bet timing, and dice protocol that also applies here, see the complete craps rules reference. Here is the Crapless-specific rule set:

Come-out roll

  • 7: Pass Line wins 1 to 1. New come-out.
  • 11: Pass Line wins 1 to 1. New come-out.
  • 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12: Any of these becomes the point. The ON puck flips and the round continues.

Compare to traditional craps: 2, 3, and 12 would lose immediately here. In Crapless, they become points instead.

Point round

The shooter rolls until either the point is rolled again (Pass Line wins at 1 to 1) or a 7 is rolled (Pass Line loses, dice pass to next shooter). All 9 possible points work the same structurally - the difference is the probability of making each point, which drives different odds payouts (see below).

Don't Pass is not available

Most real Crapless Craps layouts remove the Don't Pass bar entirely. Betting against the shooter would give the player too large an edge in the Crapless rule set since wrong-way bettors would effectively never lose on the come-out. Crapsee follows this convention - Don't Pass and Don't Come are unavailable on Crapless tables.

Crapless Craps odds and house edge

Crapless Craps changes the math significantly from standard craps. Here is the complete odds breakdown:

BetHouse edgeVerdict
Pass Line (no odds)5.38%Worse than traditional craps Pass Line (1.41%)
Pass Line + Max Odds 3x/4x/5x~2.0%Better but still worse than traditional
Pass Line + Max Odds 10x~1.0%Best Crapless configuration
Place 6 / Place 81.52%Same as traditional - best non-line bet
Place 5 / Place 94.00%Same as traditional
Place 4 / Place 106.67%Same as traditional - avoid
Place 2 / Place 12~7.14%Crapless-only bet, weak
Place 3 / Place 11~6.25%Crapless-only bet, weak
Field5.56%Same as traditional
Any Seven16.67%Worst bet on any craps table

Key math insight: the Pass Line edge jumps from 1.41% to 5.38% because you gain 2, 3, and 12 as points - but those are the lowest-probability points to make. A point of 2 or 12 is a single dice combination (6 to 1 against making it). Adding them as points while keeping the same 1-to-1 Pass Line payout is where the extra house edge comes from.

Odds bets become more important in Crapless than in traditional craps. Laying max odds behind the Pass Line drops the combined house edge sharply because odds bets pay true odds (0% house edge), and Crapless has more long-shot points available. At a 10x-odds Crapless table, combined house edge lands near 1.0% - comparable to a Place 6/8 bet at a traditional table.

For broader context on craps odds, see the full craps odds and payouts guide.

Crapless Craps payouts

Crapless payouts on odds bets scale with the true probability of each point. The four "new" points added by Crapless (2, 3, 11, 12) pay substantially more than the traditional 4-through-10 points because they are harder to roll.

Pass Line odds payouts by point

PointWays to makeTrue oddsOdds bet payout

32 ways (1-2, 2-1)3 to 13 to 1
43 ways2 to 12 to 1

103 ways2 to 12 to 1
112 ways (5-6, 6-5)3 to 13 to 1
121 way (6-6)6 to 16 to 1

Pass Line itself always pays 1 to 1 when the point is made, regardless of which number the point is. The variance comes entirely from the odds-bet layer.

Place bet payouts (Crapless-specific)

  • Place 2: 11 to 2 (approx 5.5 to 1)
  • Place 3: 11 to 4 (approx 2.75 to 1)
  • Place 11: 11 to 4 (approx 2.75 to 1)
  • Place 12: 11 to 2 (approx 5.5 to 1)
  • Place 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10: same as traditional craps (9:5, 7:5, 7:6, 7:6, 7:5, 9:5)

Crapless Craps table and layout

A Crapless Craps table looks nearly identical to a standard craps table with three noticeable differences:

  • Don't Pass bar is removed or greyed out. Wrong-way betting is not offered on Crapless.
  • Extra place number boxes for 2, 3, 11, 12. Some layouts add explicit placement boxes for these, often labeled with their Crapless-specific payouts.
  • "Crapless" or "Never Ever Craps" branding is typically printed on the felt so players know which variant they are at.

All other features match a standard craps layout: Pass Line curved along the outer edge, Come box, Field, central proposition area, and six place number boxes for 4 through 10. See the standard craps table layout guide for a labeled breakdown of every section.

On electronic Crapless Bubble Craps machines, the layout is rendered on a touchscreen with the same structural differences. The touchscreen displays a clear "CRAPLESS" banner so you never start a round thinking you are at a regular table.

Crapless Bubble Craps

Crapless Bubble Craps is the Crapless variant running on an electronic bubble craps machine. This is probably the most common way Crapless Craps is offered in modern US casinos - many regional casinos have electronic stadium setups where you can toggle between traditional Bubble Craps and Crapless Bubble Craps.

How Crapless Bubble Craps works

Mechanically identical to table Crapless. Dice are rolled inside the machine's bubble dome, 2/3/12 become points on the come-out, and the only losing roll is a 7 after the point is set. Players select Crapless mode on the touchscreen before placing their first bet.

Payout differences from table Crapless

Like standard Bubble Craps, Crapless Bubble reduces some payouts to cover the machine operating cost. Expect:

  • Place 6 and Place 8: Often 6 for 5 instead of 7 to 6 (same shift as standard Bubble)
  • Field 12: Often 2 to 1 instead of 3 to 1
  • Odds bets on 2, 3, 11, 12 points: Sometimes slightly reduced from table Crapless (e.g. 5.5 to 1 instead of 6 to 1 on point-of-2 odds)
  • Pass Line, Don't Pass (if offered), Come: Identical to table Crapless

Why play Crapless Bubble Craps

Low minimums ($1 common vs $5-$25 for live Crapless), faster pace (30-60 seconds per round), no etiquette required, and the never-crap-out come-out experience. The choice is personal. If you optimize for expected value over many sessions, traditional craps wins every time. If you want a more forgiving come-out experience and the novelty of 2, 3, 11, 12 as points, Crapless Craps delivers. Many players enjoy both.
