Crapsee bubble craps simulator — electronic table layout with touchscreen betting

Bubble Craps is the electronic, fully automated version of casino craps. Dice are enclosed in a clear dome, rolled mechanically by a shaker, and players bet through touchscreens. The rules are identical to table craps - the difference is the machine handles the dice and settles payouts automatically. Crapsee is a free online Bubble Craps simulator with cryptographically secure dice, no signup, and no real money in play.

Free Bubble Craps Simulator

Crapsee's Bubble Craps simulator runs entirely in your browser with no signup, no download, and no real money. The dice engine uses the browser's cryptographic random number generator — the same primitive that secures online banking — so every roll is independently random and verifiable. Payouts match real-world bubble machine rates: 6-for-5 on Place 6 and 8, 2-to-1 on Field 12, and reduced Hardways. You practice against the actual house edge you will face in a casino.

The simulator covers every bet available on a live bubble machine: Pass Line, Don't Pass, Come, Don't Come, Place bets (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10), Buy and Lay, Field, Hardways, Horn, and Any Seven. The point puck, payouts, and bet settlements all work the same way as a physical terminal. If you can win on Crapsee, you can win on a bubble machine.

The 60-second version

  1. Sit at a terminal (or open Crapsee) - add funds to a live machine, or use your free practice bankroll online.
  2. Tap the Pass Line on the touchscreen to place your bet.
  3. Press the Roll button. The shaker rolls the dice inside the bubble.
  4. Machine settles payouts automatically - 1-2 seconds per round.
  5. Repeat. Rounds average 15-30 seconds each vs 2-5 minutes at a live craps table.

What is Bubble Craps?

Bubble Craps (also called Electronic Craps, Stadium Craps, or Shaker Craps) is the casino format where dice are enclosed in a clear plastic dome and rolled by a mechanical shaker instead of by a human shooter. Players stand or sit at individual terminals, place bets via touchscreen, and the machine handles all the settling and payouts automatically. No stickman, no boxman, no crew - just you and the dice.

The core game is identical to table craps: Pass Line, Don't Pass, Come, Don't Come, Place bets, Field, Hardways, and proposition bets all work exactly the same way. The come-out roll, the point round, the 7-out - all identical (the complete craps rules apply 1:1 except for the dice-handling clauses, which the machine automates). What changes is the format:

  • Dice are rolled mechanically every 15-30 seconds instead of hand-thrown every 2-5 minutes
  • Bets are placed via touchscreen, not by sliding chips across felt
  • Payouts are calculated and credited automatically
  • Minimum bets are typically $1 instead of $5-$15 at a live table
  • Some payouts are slightly reduced to cover the machine operating cost (details below)

The game is popular with new players because there is no etiquette to learn, no pressure from a crowd, and no dealers to follow. It is also the cleanest way to understand craps strategy - nothing between you and the math.

How to play Bubble Craps step by step

Whether at a live machine or on an online simulator, a round of Bubble Craps goes like this:

Step 1 - Sit down and set your buy-in

At a live terminal, insert cash or a TITO (ticket-in, ticket-out) voucher. The machine credits your balance on-screen. Online at Crapsee, your free practice bankroll is set automatically - no deposit, no signup.

Choose a chip denomination from the on-screen options. Live bubble machines often offer $1, $5, $10, and $25 chips. Online you can use any denomination.

Step 2 - Place your Pass Line bet

Tap the Pass Line area on the touchscreen. Your virtual chip appears on the layout. Pass Line is the standard beginner bet - 1.41% house edge, easy to understand, and the machine recommends it if you look lost.

Try placing a Pass Line bet free →

Step 3 - Press the Roll button

Instead of a shooter throwing dice, you press a Roll button. This triggers the mechanical shaker inside the bubble dome. The dice get tossed, land, and the machine reads the result optically. The whole thing takes about 2 seconds.

In online simulators the roll is instantaneous - no physical shaker to wait for. Crapsee uses a short dice animation for feel but the roll itself is computed instantly.

Step 4 - Machine settles bets automatically

The screen highlights which bets won, which lost, and displays your payouts. Your balance updates in real time. There is no ambiguity, no dealer math, no tipping to sort out.

Step 5 - Place your next bet and continue

Rounds repeat continuously. If a point was set, the machine clearly shows the ON puck on the point number and you know what the shooter (the mechanical shaker) needs to roll. When you want to stop, one tap cashes out to a printed voucher at a live machine. Online, just close the tab - your state persists locally.

That is one full round of Bubble Craps. The machine version is functionally identical to table craps except faster, cheaper to play, and with a touchscreen interface instead of a felt layout.

Bubble Craps payouts and odds

Real-world Bubble Craps machines shave small amounts off certain payouts to pay for the hardware. Crapsee mirrors the industry-standard bubble rates so you practice against the house edge you will actually face.

Bubble Craps Strategy

The math-optimal approach to Bubble Craps is simple: play Pass Line with maximum Free Odds, ignore almost everything else. The payout structure of bubble machines makes a few of the bets that are good at live tables measurably worse here, which means your strategy needs to account for the format, not just the general craps math.

The core approach: Pass Line with max odds

  1. Pass Line with Max Odds. Pass Line has a 1.41% house edge. Laying Free Odds behind it has 0% house edge. Taking max odds at a 5x machine drops your combined edge to approximately 0.33%. No other common bet on a bubble machine comes close to this efficiency. Start every session here and only deviate if you have a specific reason.
  2. Don't Pass with Max Lay Odds. Mathematically slightly better at approximately 0.27% combined edge. The downside: on bubble machines you are the only player, so winning on Don't Pass means your roll sevened out, which can feel deflating even when you win. Psychologically harder but numerically optimal.
  3. Add Come bets with odds for more coverage. If the point is established and you want action on more numbers, add a Come bet with full odds. Two Come bets with max odds behind each, plus your Pass Line odds, gives you coverage on three numbers simultaneously at a combined edge under 0.5%. This is the bubble craps equivalent of the 3 Point Molly strategy in live craps.

Place 6 and 8: why bubble craps breaks the rule

In live craps, Place 6 and Place 8 pay 7-to-6 and carry a 1.52% house edge — one of the best non-odds bets on the table. This advice does not apply to bubble machines.

Bubble machines typically pay 6-for-5 on Place 6 and 8. That is not the same as 6-to-5. "6 for 5" means you get back 6 but your $5 bet is included in that 6, so your net win is only $1 on a $5 bet — not $1.17 as at a live table. This roughly doubles the house edge on Place 6 and 8 to around 2.78%. At that level they are still not terrible, but they are no longer the value play they are at a live craps table. If the machine offers 7-to-6 payouts on Place 6 and 8, that is unusual and actually good. Otherwise, skip Place 6 and 8 entirely and put that money into Free Odds behind your Pass Line instead.

Bets to avoid on Bubble Craps specifically

  • Place 6 and 8 (at 6-for-5 machines). As explained above, the reduced payout makes these a poor choice on bubble machines specifically. Use Free Odds instead.
  • Field bet. The standard bubble machine pays 2-to-1 on the 12 (instead of 3-to-1 at a live table). This pushes the Field house edge above 5.5%. Acceptable for short entertainment sessions but not part of any sound strategy.
  • Hardways. Already among the worst bets at a live craps table (9-11% edge), bubble machines often pay one point lower on each Hardway. House edge climbs above 10-11% on Hard 6 and 8, higher on Hard 4 and 10. Avoid entirely.
  • Any Seven (Big Red). 16.67% house edge on every craps format including bubble. There is no scenario where betting this is correct.
  • All single-roll propositions. Horn, Yo, Any Craps, C&E — all carry 11-16% edges on bubble machines. These are entertainment bets, not strategy bets.

Bankroll and session management for bubble craps

Bubble Craps runs 60-120 rounds per hour compared to 20-40 at a live table. Your bankroll is exposed to the house edge roughly 3x as fast. If you bring 100 units to a live table expecting two hours of play, expect those same 100 units to last 40 minutes on a bubble machine.

Set a stop-loss before you sit down — for example, 30 units. Set a win target — for example, up 20 units. Walk away at either trigger. The speed of bubble craps makes discipline more important, not less. A bad patch at a bubble machine depletes bankroll faster than almost any other table game in the casino.

For deeper strategy, see the craps strategy guide covering Pass Line odds, 3 Point Molly, and Iron Cross, and the craps odds and payouts breakdown with a full house edge table for every bet.

Bubble Craps machines explained

A typical bubble craps machine has three key components:

The bubble (dice dome)

A clear plastic or acrylic hemisphere in the center of the machine. Two standard 6-sided dice sit inside. The dome is large enough for the dice to tumble freely when agitated.

The shaker mechanism

A base pad under the bubble that vibrates or bumps the dice upward when a roll is triggered. Some machines use air puffs, others use a hard bump. The goal is to give the dice enough energy to tumble unpredictably, the same way a human shooter does on a live table.

The terminals

Anywhere from 4 to 16 individual player stations arranged around the central bubble. Each terminal has:

  • A touchscreen with the craps layout
  • A bill acceptor and voucher printer
  • A Roll button (on some machines only one terminal can trigger rolls; on others each player presses their own)
  • Speakers with ambient casino audio and bet-resolution sounds

Stadium vs single-player machines

Some casinos deploy "stadium" style bubble craps where 8-16 players sit in tiered seats around a large central bubble. Others have standalone cabinets where 1-2 players stand at a smaller dome. Rules and payouts are identical; only the physical form factor differs.

Bubble Craps is better for learning, practicing, and low-stakes play. Live craps is better for the social experience and slightly more favorable payouts on a few bets. Most players who start on bubble eventually try live craps once they are confident with the rules.

Frequently asked questions

What is Bubble Craps?

Bubble Craps is the electronic, fully automated version of casino craps. A domed bubble houses the dice, which are rolled mechanically, and players bet via touchscreen. Core rules are identical to table craps.

How do you play Bubble Craps?

Sit at a terminal, add funds (or play free online), tap the Pass Line on the touchscreen, then press the Roll button. The machine rolls the dice inside the bubble and settles your bet automatically. Rules for winning and losing are identical to table craps.

Where can I play Bubble Craps for free?

Crapsee offers a free online Bubble Craps simulator with no signup required. Open the free Bubble Craps table and start rolling.

How do Bubble Craps payouts differ from live craps?

Place 6 and 8 pay 6 for 5 (1.17 to 1) instead of 7 to 6. Field 12 usually pays 2 to 1 instead of 3 to 1. Hardways are often one point lower. Pass Line, Don't Pass, Come, Don't Come, and Free Odds pay the same as a live table.

What is the best Bubble Craps strategy?

Pass Line with maximum Free Odds. Pass Line has a 1.41% edge; Free Odds have 0% edge. Taking max odds at a 5x machine drops your combined edge to ~0.33%. Don't Pass with Lay Odds is mathematically slightly better. Avoid Place 6/8 on bubble (worse than live), and skip all prop bets.

Where can I find Bubble Craps machines near me?

Bubble Craps is widely available in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and regional casinos across the US. Look for "stadium gaming" areas that group electronic craps with electronic roulette and blackjack. Call the casino ahead to confirm availability.

Is Bubble Craps rigged?

No. Licensed bubble craps machines use certified random number generation and are regularly audited by gaming commissions. The house edge on every bet is published and mathematically fair. Crapsee uses the browser cryptographic RNG - the same primitive securing online banking.

Is Crapsee a real Bubble Craps simulator?

Yes. Every roll uses the browser cryptographic RNG. Payouts mirror real-world bubble machine rates. The house edge you practice against matches what you will face in a casino.

What is the minimum bet on Bubble Craps?

Live Bubble Craps machines commonly accept $1 minimum bets, far lower than most live craps tables ($5-$15 minimums). This is one of the biggest draws of bubble craps for newer players. Crapsee has no minimum since no real money is involved.

Can you win at Bubble Craps?

Short-term yes, long-term no. Every bet has a positive house edge. Short sessions can end profitable. The best way to maximize your chance of walking away up is to stick to Pass Line with Max Odds, set a win target, and leave when you hit it.

Bubble Craps vs regular craps - what's different?

Same rules, same bets, same point system. The differences are: you roll with a button instead of dice; payouts on Place 6/8, Field 12, and Hardways are slightly lower; minimum bets are typically $1 vs $5-$15; no etiquette, no crowd; pace is much faster (15-30 seconds per round vs 2-5 minutes).

Can I play Crapless Bubble Craps on Crapsee?

Yes. Crapless Bubble Craps is included with the Enhanced tier. See our Crapless Craps guide for the variant where 2, 3, and 12 become point numbers instead of losses on the come-out.
